Weddings don’t need grandeur to be unforgettable.
Sometimes, the most meaningful moments unfold on a quiet beach, beneath soft skies, with soft waves whispering in the background and your forever person by your side.
Abigail and Chris—originally from out of state but now living in Alaska—chose to say “I do” on the shores of Homer, one of the most stunning and peaceful coastal towns in the state. With the sound of waves in the background and lightly clouded skies above, their intimate beach wedding was everything they hoped for: heartfelt, simple, and deeply personal.
Their story began in classic Alaska fashion—on a trail, during a hike at Flattop Mountain near Anchorage. Their first date was a long, quiet drive through the wilderness, where they bonded over conversation and shared curiosity for the world around them.
Chris later proposed using a seashell from Abigail’s hometown of Rockford, a sweet and symbolic nod to where she came from and the new life they were building together.
“I love Abigail’s tenacity,” Chris shared.
“And I love Chris’s gentleness,” Abigail said.
“We trust each other—and we explore the world together.”
Before the ceremony, we met up for an engagement shoot at Eklutna Lake, a crystal-clear mountain lake just outside Anchorage. That day brought clear skies and vibrant light, creating a crisp, joyful atmosphere that perfectly reflected their energy.
Even though Chris and Abigail were slightly nervous about how they’d be captured and look in front of the camera, the session turned out beautifully.
“I didn’t know I could look like this,” she said after seeing the final gallery.
With natural light, relaxed direction, and real laughter, the photos captured not just how they looked—but how their relationship feels.
Their wedding day brought a shift in weather: a cloudy summer day on the beach in Homer. But that overcast sky brought a soft, moody glow that made their photos feel timeless and cinematic.
They said their vows with the water at their backs, surrounded by the kind of peaceful beauty only Alaska can deliver. It was quiet, honest, and full of love.
Not all of their loved ones could make it to the wedding—but that didn’t mean they had to miss it.
By capturing the ceremony on film, we were able to create a heartfelt wedding video that brought family and friends into the experience. They saw the emotion, the laughter, and the beauty of the day—no matter how many miles away they were.
