Some couples meet online. Others meet through mutual friends.
But this couple? They met in Antarctica—at the bottom of the world—just as the pandemic began.
Now, after getting engaged on the equator in Ecuador and sharing years of international adventure, they chose to get married in the wild beauty of Alaska—standing on a glacier, surrounded by mountains, crystal clear glacial pools, and some of the most epic views on Earth.
Their wedding wasn’t just romantic.
It was symbolic. A perfect continuation of a story that’s spanned continents, hemispheres, and oceans.
Their story begins where few ever travel: Antarctica, at the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Nearly all expedition ships had canceled sailings—except one. By fate or fortune, they ended up among just a handful of passengers… an unexpected love in an unexpected place.
From there, their relationship became a whirlwind of adventure and shared wonder. They got engaged in Ecuador, standing together in the Galapagos Islands at the middle of the world. And now, to keep the theme going, they tied the knot in Alaska—in the Arctic, near the North Pole.
They partnered with Outbound Heli Adventures to reach some of the most remote and awe-inspiring locations in the state.
Their wedding began with a ceremony on a glacier—surrounded by sapphire ice pools, crisp September air, and panoramic views of the Chugach Mountains. They exchanged vows right there on the ice, with crampons on their feet and joy in their hearts.
Then came the real adventure…
After their ceremony, the helicopter lifted off once again—this time headed toward a rugged mountain ridge high above the glacier, with sweeping views of valleys, waterfalls, and ancient ice formations.
Landing on a remote alpine cliff, they explored the terrain hand-in-hand while soaking in the surreal backdrop: towering cliffs, distant glacier tongues, and a cascading waterfall cutting through the rocks.
Every moment felt cinematic.
The kind of experience you can’t replicate—and one you’ll never forget.
Eloping in Alaska in September offers some of the best conditions for couples who crave dramatic, moody, and photogenic landscapes:
For a couple who met at the South Pole, got engaged at the equator, and married in the Arctic, every destination has told part of their love story.
But this day?
This one felt like a cinematic finale to the trilogy.
It was about more than vows—it was about momentum, memory, and the thrill of sharing the world together.
They didn’t choose Alaska just for the views.
They chose it because it aligned with who they are: bold, curious, committed, and wildly in love.
Whether you’re planning from overseas or the Lower 48, a helicopter-access elopement in Alaska can be everything you didn’t even know you needed.
